Sintela ONYX generates interest at Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2024

We were pleased to have the geophysical monitoring capabilities of the Sintela ONYX™ Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) unit demonstrated at the recent Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2024 held in Chiba, Japan.

Seven papers were presented which used results acquired using Sintela ONYX sensing units. The papers authored by researchers at Tohoku University, Kyoto University, and Kyushu University as well as from NIED and OYO Corporation, covered topics ranging from the monitoring of earthquakes and volcanoes to the imaging of shallow structures using traffic noise.

Along with the papers, a demonstration during the exhibition of earthquake data acquired using ONYX generated interest amongst the visitors, and showed the effectiveness of ONYX for the permanent, large area monitoring of earthquake and volcanic activity.
